We Need More Love In the World
I love my niece and my nephews. They are bright kids, fun to be around and well-mannered…most of the time. On a dime, it seems, a smile can become an angry glare, tickling that led to laughing can turn into threats of violence, and asking for something to be done can be met with a sarcastic retort that you weren’t quite expecting. In the next 15-minute stretch, the full gamut of emotions can cycle again. My sister and I talk about it a lot, and the talk of unconditional love always comes up.
Unconditional love is what is supposed to be given to children. Any time the word love is said, the poem about love being patient and kind and about 30 other things at once makes that term seem overwhelming. It is always more simple when it comes to our children, for we love them unconditionally. Do we do the same for adults... do we love all adults unconditionally? At what moment do the conditions appear for the people in our lives?
The children in your life are a reminder for us to love unconditionally no matter what age. Always remember to try and extend some of that love to others and their kids. For each and every one of us is someone’s child. Imagine for a moment what the world would look like if we loved the passerby like our own child. Love without conditions or judgements could change the conditioning of a society.
We need more LOVE in the world, now more than ever. For LOVE heals everything.
