People Can Surprise You

Sarah Darling wanted to help a fellow citizen out when she dropped some change into Billy Ray Harris’ cup. What she didn’t realize was that along with some money, she dropped her diamond engagement ring into his donation cup.

Harris is homeless and stays under a bridge near Darling’s hometown. Darling returned to his spot to find that he had kept the ring safe for her.

In appreciation, she and her husband set up an online fundraiser for Harris. In one week, they raised nearly $95,000 dollars and all the proceeds directly benefited him.

Harris’ response? “I don’t deserve it,” he said.
